Okay so...

Does anyone else find it weird that The-Dream is dating Christina Milian? Like WTF...
There was some buzz that him and Kanye were supposed to work a joint album a la "Best of Both Worlds," but Mr. West told The-Dream to step his celebrity game up before they took that chance. Was this his step up? Uh... idk. Not to hate, Christina Milian is gorgeous [before the blonde hair], but she's not all that relevant. Maybe he should try a change in stylist, just a thought.

Speaking of Christina Milian, what is up with the blonde!! It's nuts to me. Anywho, before dating The-Dream, she was in a long term relationship with Dre of the producing team Cool&Dre. I don't know if it's a step up or down for her. Thinking more like lateral step. Same plane, different person.

The Vaginas are Ready

As part of Morgan celebrating Women's History Month and being part of the movement to end violence towards women, office of Student Activities presented the Vagina Monologues. It's the third year the production has ever been put on at Morgan, but my first time attending.
My take on it? I'm glad you asked! With a cast of students and faculty, it was informative, eye opening and humorous all at the same time. Definitely might catch me at the auditions next year. And this year the proceeds went to TurnAround Inc., a non-profit that helps victims of sexual and domestic violence.

For more info on the organization visit http://www.turnaroundinc.org/.

She's Your Queen to Be...

On April 1st, yours truly will be participating in the 1st Annual Miss Bold & Beautiful Pageant here at Morgan. It's the first time anything like this has been done and it's hosted by the one and only Junior Class. ::2010 stand up:: There are six other contestants than myself. I've got crazy love for each and every one of them, but I'll keep it real. I want to win, bad. Who would have ever thought, right? But don't get me wrong, I get in that pageant mode, no problem. As always, there's still work to be done and room for improvement. Pray for me!!

Back to the point, this is the real deal. No jokes about this one. We've been working hard in and out of rehearsals. The actual pageant includes evening wear and speech portions, but I'm not gonna give it all away. Make sure you're there to see for yourself on April 1st, 7pm in the USC. You won't be disappointed.

Shouts to the B&B girls! Keba, Ashia, Mara, Yasmin, LuLu & Sharika :: I couldn't dare forget our coordinators, Miss C.Breedy & Miss Hines!

::uh so yeah, I mocked up some of my own flyers, lol::

We are the Bears

Anyone who knows me, knows that I go to Morgan State University and that I have major Bear Pride. The Morgan Bears have been battling it out in the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference and brought home the Championship. SGA set up a welcome back celebration/viewing party for our MEAC champs. The Magnificent Marching Machine always holds it down and the cheerleaders bring that spirit. Even administration was in the building. Our president, Dr. Richardson, Ms. Rush, Mr. Perry and others came out to share in the excitement. Morgan even got a little media shine. The Bears are playing in the NCAAs and travelling out to Missouri to play the Oklahoma Sooners, this week! Morganites let's keep up that Bear Pride!

Kitty Kouture

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the prettiest kitty of them all? You've guessed it! It's Hello Kitty, the official pretty kitty. I love her, Paris loves her, Kimora loves her and now MAC loves her too. The iconic Sanrio character has been adopted by MAC Cosmetics and given an over-the-top, diva flare. Shiny, sleek and black, no one can resist the Kitty Kouture products. The collectables are flying off the shelves in stores and sold out on the website. And honestly, I'm hating, hard! If anyone out there loves me, I'd love the leather stuffed Kitty or the black compact mirror. Meanwhile, I'll still be wearing my "On the Prowl" nail lacquer.

From "I am" to "Epiphany"

Chrisette Michele is unfortunately still one of those under rated, under appreciated talents on the scene. Though she didn't continue to stay current after dropping several singles for her last album, "I Am" still created a very strong fan base. The native New Yorker has got crazy writing skills with a classic jazz voice. Plus, Chrisette has one of those amazing faces that can pull off that great pixie haircut.
Her new single "Epiphany" is a fresh tune off of her upcoming album of the same name. Take a look at the Ray Kay directed video with a cameo from one of my favorites, Drake. Check out his mixtape "So Far Gone" as well, he's real! "Epiphany" drops this spring, on May 19th and I'm looking to be pleasantly suprised.

Elections, Schmelections!

It began as a hope for a better Morgan. Student Government Association was an entity that worked for the students. The ideal SGA member has no hidden agendas, is a hard worker and is passionate about Morgan State University and seeing its wonderful legacy being continued. However, the SGA elections of Spring 2009 have been the expression of the exact opposite. Friendships have been battered by ambitions, unity discarded for division and Morgan spirit traded for personal gain. Where have all the good clean races gone?

This campaign season has been nothing short of intense and insane. Horrible rumors have been spread, personal property defaced and tears have been shed. The interesting thing was that it was not only the behavior of certain candidates that was questionable, but moreso the actions of the campaign teams. I've heard everything from flyers being plastered to cars with packaging tape to candidates being accused of stealing SGA money. The members of these teams have been caught up in a mob mentality that made friends become adversaries.

And just as everyone else, I awaited the results yesterday at 12pm. Unfortunately, they weren't to my liking, but I'm just one person. A lot of people weren't afraid to voice their disappointment in the results, as well as point out the "funny" numbers. I had received text messages, Facebook messages and phone calls about the actual voting and votes. I was curious as to why the change in email wasn't released to the student body as campaigning began. Why were a lot people I knew unable to vote regardless of changing their emails? Why was it that people logged in to vote and the system claimed they voted already? It seems as if the majority is in disagreeance with the elected candidates, but the numbers speak differently.

At the end of it all, everything happens for a reason. Good luck to all those SGA elect members, just remember to do right by the student body. SGA is SGA! To all those candidates that didn't win, I'm sure you've got far more in store not just for Morgan, but for the world. Peace & Blessings!
